welcome to Barra de Potosi

In the beginning Barra de Potosi was mentioned somewhere in the LonelyPlanet guide and some backpackers map, it had relatively little to no infrastructure for travelers. The intrepid hung their hammocks between the swaying palm trees, pitched their tents, and quietly enjoyed the beach with a few others and with nesting sea turtles and other abundant wildlife.

As the word spread of spectacular, secluded beach and solitude, Barra de Potosi became a haven for nature lovers, yoga practitioners, fishermen, and those looking to escape the mass tourism that enveloped Pacific coast. Today Barra de Potosi continues its evolution and now welcomes travelers with a number of bungalows and houses for rent, boutique Inn like Hacienda La Rusa, a few luxury estates, good restaurants, and tons of “what to do” for an active traveler.
